A broad diadem is tied across the hair, with the ends visible behind the neck. The portrait is vigorous and naturalistic, conveying regal authority characteristic of late Antigonid royal coinage. The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse.

The entire design is encircled by a wreath of oak leaves and acorns rendered in fine detail, a motif emblematic of Macedonian royal coinage. The overall composition is bold and symmetrical, with the legend and central device contained within the wreath border.
