Obverse description Bare head of Apollo-Carneius facing left, rendered in fine high-relief engraving characteristic of the Cyrenaican school. The deity is depicted youthful and unbearded, with elaborately curled hair swept back from the brow and gathered in flowing locks behind the neck. The facial features are idealized in the Greek manner, with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a serene, patrician expression. No inscription appears on the obverse field.
