Obverse description Bare head of Apollo-Carneius facing left, adorned with a small curving horn of Ammon rising above the brow, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing, deeply engraved hair locks swept back from the face. The youthful, idealized visage displays delicate facial features characteristic of late Classical Cyrenaican coinage, with the neck truncation visible at the lower field. No legend or inscription accompanies the portrait. The high-relief modeling and confident die-cutting reflect the accomplished artistry of the Cyrene mint during the reign of Magas.
