| Obverse description | Bare head of Apollo-Carneius facing left, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with richly curled hair swept back from the brow. A small ram's horn of Ammon curves forward above the ear, reflecting the syncretic cult of Apollo-Ammon prevalent in Cyrenaica. The facial features are finely modelled with a straight profile, defined eye socket, and sensitively worked lips. The field is plain, with no legend or border. |
