| Obverse description | Facing radiate head of Helios, depicted three-quarter to right, with flowing hair radiating outward in all directions, rendered in the high-relief Hellenistic style characteristic of Rhodian coinage. The god's youthful, idealized features are finely modelled, with pronounced cheekbones and a serene expression. The radiating crown of sunbeams frames the face dramatically, emphasizing the solar deity's divine nature. The flan is slightly irregular, typical of hammered silver coinage of the period. |
