Obverse description Facing radiate head of Helios shown in three-quarter view, rendered with fine artistic detail characteristic of Rhodian coinage of the early Hellenistic period. The god's hair radiates outward in wavy, tousled locks framing the full face symmetrically, with locks falling to either side in deeply modelled relief. The facial features are finely struck, displaying large almond-shaped eyes, a broad nose, and slightly parted lips, conveying the divine majesty of the solar deity. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hammered silver coinage of this era. No legend appears on the obverse.
