Obverse description Facing radiate head of Helios, turned slightly to the right, rendered in high relief with characteristic flowing wavy hair emanating outward in the form of solar rays. The facial features are finely modelled in the Rhodian tradition, with pronounced brow, large almond-shaped eyes, and full lips. The head fills the flan, with no legend or border, displaying the hallmark artistry of Rhodian die engravers of the mid-Hellenistic period.
