Obverse description Hound standing to right in profile, rendered in fine archaic relief with careful attention to musculature and form; the animal is depicted alert, with head slightly raised, tail extended, and all four legs clearly defined. The figure occupies the central field of the flan with no legend or border present, characteristic of early Segestian coinage.

Reverse description Head of the nymph Aigeste facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and bound with a taenia; the portrait is rendered in fine relief with delicate facial features characteristic of Sicilian engraving of the late fifth century BC. The entire design is enclosed within a linear circular border. No legend is present, consistent with the early issues of Segesta.
