Obverse description Head of a female divinity, identified as Sinope or a city goddess (Tyche), facing left, with hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a turreted mural crown, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic facial features. The locks of hair fall in wavy strands behind the neck, and the modelling of the face displays the refined craftsmanship characteristic of Pontic coinage of the early Hellenistic period. The field is otherwise plain, with no legend or additional devices on this side.
