Reverse description A powerful lion to the left, depicted in the act of seizing and pulling down a stag, rendered with vigorous naturalistic energy characteristic of the finest Velian coinage. The lion grasps the prostrate stag with its forepaws, its open jaws closing on the prey's neck and head, while the stag's antlered head is thrown back and its legs are splayed in collapse. The ethnic legend YEΛHTEΩN curves around the upper field, and the control letter Δ appears in the lower right field below the group.
