Obverse description Head of the nymph Segesta in three-quarter facing profile, turned slightly to the right, with elaborately rendered wavy hair drawn back and secured with a fillet or diadem, a single earring visible at the lobe. The facial features are modelled with refined Sicilian artistry characteristic of the late fifth century BC, displaying a high forehead, almond-shaped eye, and softly contoured chin. The field is largely plain, with a beaded border visible along the coin's irregular flan periphery. A partial inscription in Greek characters appears along the lower border of the coin.
