Reverse description A large crab rendered in high relief, depicted frontally with carapace prominently modelled and all eight legs splayed symmetrically to either side, occupying the majority of the field. A vine leaf appears in the upper field above the carapace. Below the crab, a fish is shown in left profile, its scales and fins finely engraved in the characteristic Sicilian naturalistic style. The composition is contained within a plain incuse circle, with no legend present.
