Obverse description Silphium plant depicted in the field, shown frontally with a large rounded seed head at the top and broad stylized leaves extending to either side of the stalk; the root bulb is rendered at the base. To the left of the plant, a large oval seed or fruit of the silphium is depicted in relief. The composition occupies the full flan in a bold, archaic artistic style characteristic of early Kyrenaean coinage.

Reverse description Incuse square featuring a stylized head or bust of the silphium plant rendered in shallow relief within a circular boundary, consistent with the early archaic incuse technique employed at Kyrene. The reverse exhibits the characteristic sunken design typical of early fifth-century BC Greek colonial coinage from North Africa, with a granular surface texture surrounding the central device.
