| Obverse description | Forepart of a bull charging and butting to the left, rendered with bold, high-relief modelling characteristic of Syracusan die-cutting of the Timoleontic period. The muscular neck and lowered head convey powerful movement, with the forelegs tucked beneath the body. The type is contained within a plain dotted border running along the lower field. |

| Reverse description | A single upright barley ear with full, fanning awns occupies the central field, flanked by two smaller leaves curling at the base of the stalk. The ethnic legend ΣYPAK – OΣIΩN (of the Syracusans) is disposed in Greek characters around the periphery of the field, reading in two segments. The composition is unbordered and reflects the characteristic civic iconography of Sicily's grain-producing prosperity. |
