Reverse description Bust of the city's patron saint, Leodegar (Leodegarius), depicted facing right in three-quarter profile, wearing a jewelled mitre adorned with a central rosette and full episcopal vestments including a richly decorated cope. The saint holds a hand drill (the instrument of his martyrdom) upright in his right hand. A nimbus encircles the mitred head, rendered in the relief conventions typical of Lucerne municipal coinage of the early seventeenth century. The date of issue appears within the peripheral legend, divided by cross stops.
