Reverse description The reverse presents a full-length frontal figure of the crowned Virgin Mary, nimbed and robed in flowing drapery in the Gothic style, holding the Christ Child on her left arm against a radiate glory of rays emanating from her form. The Christ Child is depicted facing the viewer, partially draped. A beaded inner border surrounds the central device, with the Marian invocation AVE: MARIA GRACIA: P inscribed in Gothic uncial lettering around the periphery, the legend referencing the opening words of the Ave Maria prayer.
