Obverse description Youthful male head facing right, identified as Heracles, wearing the scalp of the Nemean lion as a headdress, the lion's gaping jaws framing the top of the head and the paws knotted at the neck. The portrait is rendered in a vigorous Hellenistic style with strong facial features, the hair visible beneath the lion scalp rendered in fine curling locks. The flan is irregular, with a natural patina of green and brown. No legend appears on the obverse.
