| Obverse description | Diademed and bearded portrait bust of Antiochos IX facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic royal tradition with curling locks of hair falling behind the neck. The royal diadem is tied at the back with characteristic flowing ends. The portrait displays strong facial features typical of late Seleucid bronze coinage, with the effigy occupying the central field against an essentially plain background. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck bronze production of the period. |
