Reverse description Standing figure of the youthful Dionysos depicted in left-facing pose, his weight carried in a relaxed contrapposto stance typical of Hellenistic bronze coinage. In his raised right hand he holds a kantharos, the wine-cup emblematic of the god, while his left hand supports a thyrsus held vertically behind him. The royal legend flanks the figure in two vertical columns in Greek characters, identifying the issuing monarch. The composition reflects the Dionysiac religious iconography favored on Seleucid bronze issues of this period.
