Obverse description Bare head of the nymph Larissa facing right, rendered in the fine Classical style characteristic of Thessalian coinage of the early fourth century BC. The hair is elaborately dressed, drawn back in wavy locks and gathered at the nape, with loose tresses framing the face. The facial features are gracefully modeled, exhibiting a serene expression with almond-shaped eye, straight nose, and softly parted lips. The field is plain, with no inscription or border.

Reverse description A horse standing to the right in the act of lying down, its forelegs bent and head lowered toward the ground in a naturalistic posture emblematic of Thessalian equestrian imagery. The animal's musculature is rendered with vigor, and its tail flows downward. The legend ΛΑΡΙ above and ΣΑΙΩΝ below is divided across the field, identifying the issuing city. A ground line is present beneath the horse.
