Obverse description A plain cross pattee centered within a circle, dividing the field into four equal quadrants. The cross is rendered in low relief, characteristic of hammered medieval coinage. A circular legend surrounds the central motif, reading G P ACCAIE, abbreviating Guillelmus Princeps Achaiae (William, Prince of Achaea). The coin exhibits an irregular flan with a slightly scalloped edge, typical of Frankish Morea copper issues of the mid-thirteenth century.
