| Obverse description | Frontal enthroned figure of Vratislaus II, crowned and robed, depicted in a schematic Romanesque style within a central beaded inner circle. The ruler holds a sceptre or lance in his right hand and an orb or similar regal attribute in his left. A surrounding legend in debased Latin characters occupies the outer field, rendered in the crude epigraphic style typical of Bohemian and Moravian deniers of the late eleventh century. The entire design is enclosed by a toothed or beaded outer border formed by the irregular hammered flan. |
