| Obverse description | Central field depicts a standing armed figure, likely a stylized representation of the ruler or a warrior, holding a lance or spear in the right hand; the figure is rendered in the crude Romanesque style characteristic of Bohemian-Moravian hammered deniers of the mid-eleventh century. Degenerate pseudo-letters or decorative symbols are distributed around the periphery of the flan, forming a partial border legend of unclear reading. |

Vratislaus II ruled Moravia from Olomouc before his elevation to the first King of Bohemia in 1085 — a title granted by Emperor Henry IV as a personal reward for military support during the Investiture Controversy, not as a hereditary right. The kingdom died with him in 1092. Cach 340 falls within his tenure as duke, predating that royal grant, which places this piece firmly in the Moravian administrative tradition rather than the Bohemian royal one.
