Obverse description Stylised laureate head facing left, rendered in the schematic Celtic artistic tradition with boldly hatched hair locks radiating from the crown and a prominent eye indicated by a pellet. The effigy is set within an encircling beaded border, characteristic of Allobrogian coinage of the late Republican period. The facial features are rendered in a abstracted manner typical of Gaulish silver coinage influenced by Greek prototypes.
