Additional information

The Moravian denier series of the mid-to-late twelfth century presents persistent attribution problems that have occupied Czech numismatists for generations. VP#269 / Šmerda#426 remains unassigned to a specific ruler precisely because Moravia's political structure during this period involved multiple co-ruling margraves — Vladislaus Henry, Konrad II, and others held overlapping authority — making die-sequence arguments inconclusive without supporting documentary evidence.

Šmerda's 1992 corpus remains the essential reference, though several attributions he proposed have since been challenged by hoard analysis from the Znojmo and Brno regions.
