Reverse description A plain cross with flared terminals is displayed at the center of a quatrefoil inner border, the arms of the cross dividing the field into four equal sections. Small pellets or annulets appear in two of the angles of the cross. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential pious legend arranged in uncial Gothic script around the periphery. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, consistent with hammered billon production of the late 15th to early 16th century.
