Reverse description A plain cross pattee occupies the full reverse field, dividing it into four equal quarters in the traditional tournois manner. The cross arms extend nearly to the inner beaded circle, with the design struck in low relief consistent with the worn hammered billon fabric. A circular legend in Latin uncial characters runs around the periphery between the inner and outer beaded borders, identifying the Breton monetary authority. The overall style conforms to the standard denier tournois type struck for Brittany under Francis I.
