Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Louis XIII facing right, occupying the central field. The bust is rendered in a somewhat crude hammered style typical of provincial French mints of the early seventeenth century. The surrounding legend reads LOVIS XIII D G R FRAN E NA, abbreviating the king's royal title as King of France and Navarre, separated by dots. The legend runs clockwise within a beaded inner border.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering LOVIS.XIII.D.G.R.FRAN.E.NA.
