Reverse description Central motif consists of a plain Latin cross with flared terminals set within a circular orle or quatrefoil frame, with small lis or pellets in the angles, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The design follows the standard Tournois cross type as employed throughout the Capetian and Valois traditions. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin characters reads XPS VINCIT, with the remainder partially illegible due to the irregular flan and typical striking weakness of hammered billon coinage.
