Reverse description Central device consisting of two fleurs-de-lis arranged vertically, with an S mintmark positioned below, all within a beaded inner circle of approximately 11 mm diameter. The tournois legend with the date encircles the central device, beginning at 12 o'clock, and incorporates a crowned trefoil ornament as a legend divider. The design is characteristic of the denier tournois coinage type of the French royal series.
