Obverse description A plain Latin cross of equal arms occupies the central field, its arms extending nearly to the inner border and dividing the flan into four quadrants. A circular legend in Latin characters runs along the periphery, separated from the cross by a beaded or linear inner border. The overall design follows the standard denier tournois type, with the bold cross serving as the primary device. The hammered flan is irregular in shape, and surface wear is evident consistent with a low-denomination circulation piece.
