Obverse description Facing crowned bust of King Solomon within a border of pellets or dashes, the king's right side of the field left plain, while his left hand holds a cross. A letter S appears on what would be considered the reverse side of the die. The portrait is rendered in the crude, stylized manner typical of early medieval Hungarian hammered coinage, with the crown clearly delineated above the frontal effigy. The circumferential legend reads +REX SALOMONI, identifying the ruler by name and title.
