| Obverse description | Central figure of a nimbed saint standing facing, holding an upright banner or standard in the right hand, flanked on each side by a soldier or attendant figure in military dress; the flanking figures appear to bow or kneel slightly toward the central saint, creating a symmetrical heraldic composition within a beaded inner circle. The figures are rendered in the Romanesque style characteristic of Bohemian hammered coinage of the early twelfth century. |

Sobeslaus I consolidated Přemyslid power after defeating Holy Roman Emperor Lothair III's candidate at the Battle of Chlumec in 1126, securing his ducal position through military force rather than imperial approval. Coinage from his reign reflects this political turbulence — issues are irregular, mintage was limited, and surviving examples are scarce. Cach 579 is among the harder attributions in the series.
