Obverse description Central cross pattée occupying the majority of the field, with squared terminals extending toward the coin's periphery. The cross divides the field into four quadrants. A circular legend surrounds the design, reading SIMON DVX, identifying the issuer as Duke Simon I of Lorraine. The style is characteristic of early 12th-century Lotharingian hammered coinage, with irregular flan and somewhat crude execution typical of the period.

Reverse description Frontal standing figure of Saint Peter rendered in a schematic Romanesque style, depicted facing right and holding a pair of keys, his principal attribute as patron saint. The figure is shown within the inner field, robed, with head slightly turned. A beaded inner circle frames the central motif. The surrounding circular legend reads SCS PETRVS, the abbreviated Mediaeval Latin for Sanctus Petrus, referencing the patron saint of the Remiremont abbey and associated mint.
