Obverse description Frontal enthroned effigy of Charlemagne in regal attire, holding a lily scepter in the right hand and an imperial orb in the left, rendered in the crude but vigorous style characteristic of early 13th-century German hammered coinage. The figure is depicted in a schematic, hieratic manner with wide-set eyes and simplified drapery folds. A partial Latin legend surrounds the enthroned figure within the field, partially visible due to irregular flan cutting. The coin exhibits typical surface wear and flan irregularity consistent with hammered medieval silver production.
