Obverse description Central cross with splayed arms enclosed within a small inner circle, surrounded by a degenerate outer legend. The field displays a crude, somewhat irregular design characteristic of early medieval hammered coinage. The inscription, arranged around the periphery, reads +OTITO DVX, identifying the issuing duke. The overall style reflects the debased engraving conventions common to late Ottonian deniers struck at Zurich.
