Obverse description Frontal bust of a standing Margrave depicted in a crude, stylized manner characteristic of 13th-century German bracteate-influenced coinage, shown facing, wearing a crown, with the figure's upper body rendered in low relief. The Margrave holds a sword to his left and a lance to his right, the arms and regalia indicated by schematic strokes. An arched border frames the design, and the irregular flan edge is typical of hammered medieval silver coinage.
