Reverse description Schematic representation of a church facade or temple front in high relief, rendered in the stylised Ottonian manner typical of Regensburg Pfennige of the late tenth century. The structure features a triangular gabled roof with stepped or hatched ornamentation above a rectangular body incorporating a central arcade motif. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, beyond which the annular legend +ATHAHLHET identifies the empress Adelaide. The flan bears the same piercing at the top as the obverse, and the irregular edge reflects the hammered technique. The architectural type alludes to the church of St. Emmeram or a comparable Regensburg ecclesiastical building.
