(Translation: Odo, king by God`s mercy.)
Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a plain Latin cross with splayed terminals is centered in the field, its four arms extending nearly to the beaded border. The cross divides the inner field into four equal quadrants, all left plain without additional symbols or pellets. A circular legend in Roman majuscules, identifying the mint city of Tours, runs between the beaded inner circle and the coin's irregular outer edge. The reverse design follows the standard Carolingian denier format established under the Edict of Pitres, with the mint-city legend serving as the principal identifying element. The hammered fabric produces a characteristically uneven flan with slight weakness at the periphery.
