Obverse description Plain cross pattée at center, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A crescent appears in the second and third quarters of the cross. The circular legend in uncial Latin characters reads: ✠ ODO DNS, referencing Lord Odo (Odo III of Issoudun). The overall style is characteristic of 12th-century French feudal coinage, struck on an irregularly shaped flan with typical billon patination.
