Obverse description A crude monogram of King Odo occupies the central field, enclosed within a plain inner circle. The monogram is composed of interlaced letters in the Carolingian tradition, characteristic of late 9th-century Frankish regal coinage. The surrounding legend reads ODO REX GRATIA D-N (Odo, king by the grace of God), interrupted by cross pattée stops. The overall execution reflects the rough hammered style typical of provincial Carolingian mints, with irregular flan edges and uneven relief.
