Obverse description Central field displays a large, stylized capital letter H rendered in bold relief, characteristic of the Romanesque die-cutting tradition of the Lucchese mint. The letter H, referencing the imperial name Henricus (Henry VI, Holy Roman Emperor), is flanked by surrounding legends. The inscription IMPERATOR runs in the field around or adjacent to the monogram, affirming the imperial authority under whose name the coin was struck. The flan is irregularly shaped and the strike is typical of medieval hammered billon coinage, with flat, slightly porous surfaces consistent with low-silver alloy.
