Obverse description Draped bust of Louis XIII facing right, occupying the central field within a beaded inner circle. The legend VILLA appears around the periphery with the date 1642 positioned at the bottom of the coin. The portrait is rendered in a simplified, provincial style characteristic of hammered copper coinage of the period. The overall strike is irregular, as typical of emergency or municipal issues produced during the Catalan Revolt.
