Reverse description A long cross extending to the beaded inner circle divides the field into four quarters, with an annulet positioned in the second and third angles and three bezants (pellets) arranged in the first and fourth angles. The Latin legend CERVARIE, denoting the mint city of Cervera, runs around the periphery within the beaded circle. The design is struck on an irregular flan in low relief, consistent with the hammered technique employed for this emergency issue. The overall composition follows standard Catalan denier iconographic conventions of the period.
