Reverse description The reverse displays a facing helmeted head or mask, likely a stylized representation of the margrave's visored helm, a common device on Brandenburg pfennigs of Louis II. The facial features are rendered in a schematic, almost abstract manner typical of mid-14th-century hammered coinage from the Mark Brandenburg. The design fills the central field, framed by a plain raised border ring. The flan is irregular in outline, consistent with hand-cut planchets of the period. No inscriptional legend accompanies the design.
