Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a stylized crosier flanked by two alpha letters (Α Α) in the lower field, surmounted by a crescent. The design is contained within a plain circle bordered by a beaded ring, with the surrounding legend occupying the outer field. The composition reflects the Romanesque ecclesiastical artistic style typical of northern French abbatial coinage of the late 12th century.
