| Obverse description | Central field displays a monogram composed of the letters PP over CA, arranged within a beaded inner circle. Surrounding the central device is a circular Latin legend in large, boldly struck characters, partially retrograde and irregular in spacing, characteristic of early Bohemian hammered coinage. A cross or cross-like ornament appears at the top of the legend. The overall design reflects the Ottonian-influenced die-cutting style of early 11th-century Bohemian deniers. |
