| Obverse description | Central cross with two annulets placed in the first and fourth quarters, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross divides the field into four sections, with the annulets serving as distinctive seigneurial symbols. Surrounding the inner circle, the Latin legend HVHBΛVDVS — the name of the lord Humbaud — runs between two concentric borders, introduced by a cross pattée. The lettering is rendered in a characteristic Romanesque hand typical of early 12th-century French feudal coinage, with some letter forms showing retrograde or uncial variants. |
