Obverse description A schematic representation of a church or chapel occupies the central field, depicted in a stylized Romanesque manner with a triangular roofline, nave, and doorway rendered in low relief. A small croisette surmounts the structure and interrupts the surrounding circular legend. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the crude but characteristic workmanship typical of 11th-century French feudal hammered coinage.
