| Obverse description | Bishop's crozier depicted prominently in the central field, rendered in a crude but characteristically Romanesque hammered style. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the episcopal staff rising vertically from the base. A six-pointed star appears above the crozier head, serving as a decorative and symbolic device. The surrounding legend reads HENRICVS EPS, identifying the issuing prelate Henry as bishop, separated by a star-shaped ornament. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-struck ecclesiastical issues of the mid-twelfth century. |
